First Impressions

My first visit to the Blood Run National Historic Landmark was filled with joy and wonder.  As I moved throughout the site, I was amazed at the scenic beauty around me.  The tall grasses and the green trees.  The babbling creek with minnows swimming where we could see them.  The sense of history was palpable. I had the pleasure of being in the company of energetic children and seeing the site through their eyes was so much fun.  The joy they felt at finding snail shells or seeing square nails at the Johnson homestead location brought me back to my own childhood and those moments of simple joy.  I wish you all those same moments.
